Welcome to Flick's Photos and Digital Art
Always A Work In Progress
For the first 60 years of my life I had little interest in taking pictures. I enjoyed looking at the work of the great photographers, but that was about it. In 2003 I got what now would probably be called a point-and-shoot camera, an Olympus Camedia 3400z and began to take the occasional picture. In August of 2009, as I entered the half-time retirement phase of my career, I decided to get more serious about photography and bought a Canon Rebel Xsi camera and several decent lenses. I became more interested in producing interesting, at least to me, images, and learned that I was interested in taking pictures of almost anything, except people. In the first week I had the camera I also discovered two pieces of software that have become staples of my work, in addition to Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom. These software packages were the filters from Topaz Labs, and Dynamic Auto Painter (DAP) from Mediachance. I highly recommend both of them if you are interested in post-processing of photos. In April 2011 I bought a Canon 5D Mark II camera and several high-end lenses, and am delighted with this purchase, and also continue to use the Xsi and Olympus cameras as well as a 12MP point-and-shoot from GE. Thank you for visiting my site and I hope you enjoy the pictures. I am always adding new galleries so please return occasionally. If you have any questions or comments, please email me. |
